PHOTOGRAPHY AND MINDFULNESS

Workshop – experience with Amparo Muñoz Morella

This workshop, specially designed for Photovacation, is an invitation to pause, look, and reconnect with yourself through photography.
An experience that combines mindful presence with visual expression, aiming to develop a new way of perceiving the world.

We live in an environment where rushing has become the norm. From the moment we wake up, our minds jump from one task to another: work, family responsibilities, social media, commitments… Our attention is fragmented, caught between to-do lists and notifications. We often end the day feeling exhausted, with the sense that we haven’t had a single moment of true presence – and sometimes even with the feeling that we haven’t done anything meaningful.

This workshop offers you the opportunity to slow down, connect with the present moment, and train your visual perception without judgment or expectations. Photography becomes a tool for active meditation, allowing you to explore reality from a deeper and more conscious perspective – free from the pressure to create “perfect” images, and instead focused on fully experiencing the process itself.

Amparo will accompany you on a journey starting from the foundations of mindfulness and leading to the creation of a small meditative photographic project. Each session includes guided contemplation exercises, photographic practices focused on mindful observation, and references to renowned artists who have worked from this perspective.

You’ll explore how light, texture, emptiness, and rhythm can be key elements in building a visual narrative rooted in awareness. In addition, you’ll receive tools for reducing stress, increasing focus, and finding joy in the act of seeing.

Over the course of 3 days, in 3 two-hour sessions, we will combine photography practice, mindfulness exercises, and personal reflection to cultivate a more conscious, sensitive, and authentic gaze. It’s not about technique, but about presence: about how we see the world (and ourselves) from a deeper place.

An experience that transforms the way we observe… and who we are when we observe.

🕒 Schedule*

Pause 1 (09.09.2025)
Stop to See
In the first session, we’ll explore the basics of mindfulness and how it applies to photography as a practice of present-moment awareness. Through photographic exercises and mindful attention, we’ll begin training a gaze that is grounded in the now—open and receptive. We’ll reflect on how our way of seeing changes when we simply pause and observe.

Pause 2 (10.09.2025)
Feeling and Observing
In the second session, we’ll deepen the relationship between body, emotions, and visual perception. We’ll explore how our sensations influence what we see, and we’ll practice photography focused on light, rhythm, texture, and movement. We’ll learn to observe without interference, allowing the environment and our emotions to express themselves naturally.

Pause 3 (11.09.2025)
Creating from What Matters
The final session is dedicated to integrating the experience through the creation of a small journal or mindful photographic series. Through a sequence of images and personal reflections, each participant will shape a visual narrative connected to what truly matters to them. An experience of full presence.

*Exact session times will be announced on site.
